Quo vadis, krzyżu?! / Quo Vadis, the cross?!

Zgromadzeni przed Pałacem Prezydenckim tzw. Obrońcy krzyża wygrali pierwszą bitwę. Bitwę - bo inaczej tego nazwać nie potrafię. Decyzją Kancelarii Prezydenta krzyż zostanie przed Pałacem. Pierwszy gwóźdź do ukrzyżowania rządu PO i prezydenta Komorowskiego, o czym pisałem w tekście Ukrzyżowanie krzyżem niezgody, został wbity.

 Gathered near the Presidential Palace people - called Defenders of the Cross - have won the first battle. The battle - because I can not call it otherwise. By decision of the Office of the President, cross will stay still near the Palace. The first nail to the crucifixion of the Platforma Obywatelska's Government and the President Komorowski, as I wrote in the text Crucifixion by cross of contention, was pounded.

Choć niewielu przewidywało taki obrót sytuacji, to można było się tego spodziewać. Kumulowane od tygodni emocje musiały znaleźć gdzieś ujście. Stało się to w chwili, gdy procesja księży oraz harcerzy próbowała przenieść krzyż sprzed Pałacu Prezydenckiego. Przepychanki słowne i fizyczne, obrazy rodem z powstań czy rewolt - tak właśnie wyglądało przeniesienie, a raczej próba przeniesienia krzyża.

Kancelaria Prezydenta zyskała odrobinę czasu - jakim kosztem? Kosztem umocnienia determinacji obrońców, kosztem zawiedzionych zwolenników przeniesienia, ostatecznie - kosztem utraty zaufania wielu wyborców.

Dziś, trzeciego sierpnia dwa tysiące dziesiątego roku instytucja państwa przegrała z religijnym fanatyzmem. Co teraz?

Z pewnością osoby odpowiadające za organizację przeniesienia krzyża mają nie lada zagwostkę. Bo chyba każda i każdy z nas jest świadomy, że przy kolejnej tego próbie zbiorą się podobne tłumy; promieniujące podobną agresją, a co gorsze - z podwojoną wiarą i przekonaniem o własnej słuszności.

Agresywna retoryka przykryta katolicką peleryną zdała egzamin. Już niedługo czeka nas powtórka z rozrywki, w której to administracja będzie musiała wykazać się większym taktem i - kto wie - sprytem, a przede wszystkim skutecznością. Bo do przeniesienia krzyża dojdzie, wydaje mi się, że już niebawem. Ale w jakich okolicznościach? To niesłychane, jak krzyżem można pokrzyżować całe społeczeństwo?

Skrzyżujmy palce - niech ta farsa dobiegnie końca.

While a few commentators predicted this turn of situation, it could have been expected. Accumulating for the last week emotions had to find an outlet somwhere. It happened when a procession of priests and scouts tried to move the cross from the Presidential Palace. Verbal and physical challenges, images like from the uprisings and revolts - thats exactly looks moving, or rather - attempting to move the cross.


Office of the President has gained a bit of time - at what cost? At the expense of strenthening the determination of the defenders, at the expense of dissapointed supporters of the moving, finally - at the expense of losing the trust of many voters.


Today, in the third August tho thousand and ten, polish state is defeated by the religious fanaticism. What now?


Certainly, people responsible for organizing the moving of the cross have quite difficult work to do. Each one of us is aware that the next attemt will gather similar crowds, radiating a similar aggression and the worst - with doubled faith and conviction about their own equity.


Aggressive rhetoric shuttered by Catholic cloak passed the examination. Soon will come back it again, and then the administration will have to show more tact, and - who knows - cunning, and certainly more effectiveness. In my opinion the cross will move soon. But in what circumstances? It's incredible how you can thwart the whole of society by the cross!


Let's cross the fingers - let it be over.
